The Nerudova street is leading up from the Little Quarter Square to the Prague Castle, it used to be a part of the Royal Way. It is architectury very interesting street with Renaissance and Baroque facades and famous "house signs" - emblems used for distinguish houses before the introduction of numbers.
This area is one of the most picturesque of Prague. If you decide to stay here, you will be in the historical heart of town, but in a quieter part then on the other side of the river (only the Mostecka and Karmelitska streets are a bit noisy). This area is full of small narrow streets, lovely houses, gardens and cafe bars.
An area around the Narodni, which is one of the Pragues "high streets", with shops, offices, cafes and several houses with Art Nouveau facades. The most important structures here are the National Theatre and the building of the Laterna Magica. It is the border between the Old and the New Towns.

The area around the Prague Castle is a very convenient for pleasant walks, not only through the Castle but also in the surrounded beautiful gardens. Althought it is still the centre, it is quiet in the evenings, to enjoy the night life you need to go to the downtown.
