Description
A historical burgher house situated in the centre of the city, close to the Prague Castle. The first historical written record of the building dates back to the 15th century. The preserved basement rooms are from the Gothic period. Renaissance is represented by the painted beam ceilings while the entrance portal provides evidence of the Baroque reconstruction. The last style which is apparent at the house gable, for instance, is Classicsm. All the historical elements are truly restored. The house facade is particularly unique being connected with the 17th centurys famous painter of altar pictures Petr Brandl who was born in this house and lived here. The house undertook a large reconstruction in 1994-5 and nowadays offers luxury accommodation in fully equipped rooms. The rooms are large, equipped with period furniture.

The Nerudova street is leading up from the Little Quarter Square to the Prague Castle, it used to be a part of the Royal Way. It is architectury very interesting street with Renaissance and Baroque facades and famous "house signs" - emblems used for distinguish houses before the introduction of numbers.
